Trouble Maker
« on: July 05, 2009, 09:12:35 PM »
I've got to tell the neighbor to quit feeding the squirrels! This won't end well if we don't keep a clean camp.

Hey! He's trying to earn his keep. Looks like he's about ready to help you put out the sprinklers.  :)

It's still here, I was shooting my bow later and could here him walking around in the wood. Besides putting all the garbage away and not feeding the birds or squirrels what would you suggest? The dog keeps it at bay. I thought about a paintball gun  :dunno: I know it's not a good situation.

I would suggest waiting a few more weeks til' August 1st.  On the 1st I'd slip an arrow into him, thus curing the problem.

I've done that in the past. They trapped one and hard released it in my back yard. That may be an option if it really truly becomes a trouble maker. The first thing they will say is put your garbage away and quit feeding the birds and squirrels. Then when Aug 1st comes around other options are available, but trapping isn't one of them. It's a young one, hopefully when the berries get ripe it will be gone. I've had lot's of offers for help with the problem  :chuckle:

Kinda odd so many folks would be eager to kill a little yearling like this, if that is what is meant by "offers of help".

Don't let it break your heart Tom, This is a problem bear, or maybe you want it around your grandchildren?

:EAT:  :chuckle:  I would probably call WDFW and have them deal with it.  They need to see all the bears that are out there anyways.  They seem to think there are not that many.  At least that is what they will tell us when they try to take our season away next year.
