heres the old story
So i got the pics back today and here they are enjoy!! and thank you for all the nice comments. So the story goes, for the past 16 years I have been hunting with my dad and Lee our best friend. This year was a little different, for the first time in 16 years my Dad stayed home because it was his 35th  wedding anniversary and he promised my mom that he would spend it with her instead of hunting!!! ok i can understand that! Then Lee our best friend got his wife pregnant in January, and you guessed it an october baby! She was due on the 11th. So for the first time ever I decided I am going hunting by myself, against my wife's wishes. I got to hunting camp on Thursday and got my tent set up ,firewood cut ,a little scouting in etc etc. All fine and dandy until all my water and food froze in my tent because I woke up to a temperature of 11 degrees. To make a long story short, I hunted saturday froze my ass in my tent and decided to hunt sunday  come home and hopefully Lee would have his baby so we could get back to hunting camp. Got to winthrop sunday and called my wife she told me not to come home because michelle was in labor and lee would be heading for hunting camp Monday. So the week started out weird , but Lee and his wife have a healthy little boy. We got back to camp Monday night at midnight, hunted tuesday morning and jumped three different bucks a 3x3 ,4x4, and a big monster buck who I am pretty sure is the buck that I shot. I only got to see the right side of his antlers and it was only for a few seconds not enough time to get my scope on him. I decided to keep hunting the same hill three days in a row to try to get back on that nice buck and hopefully get a shot at him. Well as the deer gods would have it Thursday morning at 7:40 I got that chance. I was sitting on the side of the mountain by 6:50 am just about light enough to shoot, we had got a lite dusting of snow over night just enough to make it quiet and that much easier to spot the allusive monster buck. I was watching the edge of the clear cut when lees deer popped from the trees and started working his way up the hill, I was just about ready to pull the trigger when my buck came out from the edge of the timber and started to work up behind Lees deer . I got a rest on a stump took a breath and squeezed off down he went at 175 yds. Lees deer took off up the hill and about 20 seconds later boom he was down. They were shot at 7:40 and by 11:45 or so we were finally back to the truck and loaded up!! What a hunt, I would like to thank the fellow hunters out there who stopped by our camp if you read this. Thanks for the help getting our bucks in the tree, and to Kurt and Dean our hunting camp neighbors for saving our asses helping us drag these two great deer to the truck. Thanks again for the comments, keep them coming I love reading the comments. And last note please dont ask specifics on where I got these deer, you all know every hunter is like a Poker player we all lie through our teeth . All I will say is somewhere in GMU 218 . P.S I scored this buck unofficially at 176 but I dont know how accurate it was it was my first time measuring. I am hoping I am wrong and squeeze out another four points!!
