Pit Blinds???
« on: July 12, 2009, 04:30:21 PM »
Has anyone welded up an nice pit blinds.  I am using it next to a pond, so the ply-wood set up won't work like on the east side.  Looked at fiberglass ones they sell through riverfronthuntclub.  Those are nice, but am interested in building one over the summer.  Any ideas would be great.

Fiberglass is a nice idea but there is a lot of force on the sides when you bury the pit.  Just be careful.

we used heavy duty steel pits that were welded and dropped into the ground last March when I hunted snow geese in Missouri. They were awesome. good wind block, propane heaters, shelves for extra gear... good hunting.

you can see my father in law took his boot and sock off to try to warm his feet on that heater. The week we were there the temp dropped from avg 40F to -16 for just 3-4 days, then back up to 50's-60's the next week!
