Hunt before front, during or after?
« on: November 17, 2012, 01:32:32 PM »
Just wondering when others have found success; prior to severe weather, during or after? I've noticed the crappier the weather the more waterfowl I see and shoot. Thoughts?

Some of the best hunts I have ever had are DURING really crappy weather. More exciting too, usually cant see them far away.  :twocents:

:yeah:  Depending on where you hunt it really keeps the birds moving.

I've heard some day that before the storm is best for ducks but I have yet to prove this. After a storm is great for big game IMHO/experience.

I used to think that crappy weather was better, but I'd rather have 40 degrees 7 mile an hour winds, and clear as all hell.

I typically just hunt through it.  The day before, during and day after.  Lots of new birds coming in during that period.  Like Tealer mentioned, I do have my preferences, but you know how that works with mother nature.  You make the most of the weather conditions and set up accordingly.

I like it the best during the storm, but like h2o said, I will hunt no matter what  :twocents:

I love the bad weather......except the water running down the back of my neck.   :yike:  Keeps the birds moving.
