Cougar Mount Idea
« on: July 08, 2009, 03:36:01 PM »
This is for all the taxis, how difficult would it be to do a full cat mount over a carcass like this, with the cat screaming and swiping with one paw in the air, I think it would be cool. Could you do the carcass part and make it look ripped apart like this?

To make it really lifelike, be sure to get one of those dead animal carcass scent candles that you can light when ever you have folks over to visit.  Maybe toss some rice grains on it to simulate maggots.

That's a really cool mounting idea....

I don't know if it matters....but it looks more like a coyote kill. Cat will eat the rib bones without even thinking about it.

what do you say wolfbait  :chuckle:

Got the idea at Cabelas today, they have some animals fighting over whole deer. I thought it would be cool to use a partially eaten carcass.

Bucklucky and  I talked about doing that same thing but with wolves. We had a buck we were after one evening in Idaho and went back the next morning. He found the buck. Eat'n buy the wolves. Neck meat was all that was left and it was still warm. We figured when they open a wolf season maybe do soemthing with 2 or 3 wolves eat'n the kill. Kinda a reproduction of what he found that morning. If Anybody could do it right it would be Bucklucky!!!

Trust me guys, Its already in the works per say. I have an elk skeleton from a cow I killed about 7 years ago and had plannes on making it look like that buck with some sort of predators (Wolves or bear) chewing it up. I got a lifesize blacktail cape thet is waiting for me or my wife to kill a lion so I can mount it taking the buck down by the neck or throat. I have an idea for a Grizz, buit I doubt that will ever happen unless someone gives me one heck of a deal on a grizz/brown bear hunt  ;)

Phool the only problem you would run into doing a mount like this is running out of $$.

So I gotta say,  At first I thought this was kind of a crazy idea, but I am willing to be that at a taxi show, this mount would be a crowd pleaser.

I'm thinking you put the carcass under this type of a mount...
