there's got to be lots of people that don't enter their animals into the books.
nwhunter on here killed  a 370 bull this fall with his bow

The year before I drew the muzzleloader tag there was a bull killed that netted in the 390's, killed with a bow. Supposedly it held the world record for non typical a few days before Chuck Adams and someone else beat it. I saw the bull, the fronts were incredible. I'd have to see a few more picts of this one. It doesn't look to be a 400 bull to me. Either way congats to the hunter.

I believe that there was a bull taken out of the Teanaway several years ago that is the state record arhcery bull.  I don't remember the score but I think it was 390 ish

Actually it scored 421 7/8 and netted 407 and is the WA state record and # 7 in the world for NON-TYPICAL not typical. Killed by Jeff Thorpe

Yeah that's the one, i thought it was in the 400's, i think it was shot in the wilderness if i wasn't mistaken, either that or above Masterson's ranch.

That doesn't look like the Thorpe bull as best as I can remember.  I couldn't remember who killed it, but that a monster was killed in the Teanaway.  There was an article in on the Western Magazines.  That last bull is awesome though.  Congrats on the recent kill as well.

It's not ... this must be a rifle kill not archery Thorpes bull has dark choclate horns.
Here is a link to the only pic I could find when I googled it. It's from the RMEF banquet in Kittitas.

www.kittitascountyrmef.org/banquet.html

And according to the internet it scores 421 7/8 gross and 407 net non -typical which places it:
No.1 in Wa
No. 7 in the World
And I think No. 17 overall
what ever that means? Is overall between all methods Rifle Muzzle and Archery?

I agree there are a lot of people with book animals that don't enter them... And as m-ray and I were talking about yesterday - washington hunters seem to be more conservative about what they take and post.. I know in my household alone we have 4 animals that would be well up in the book that we haven't entered..

As for thorpe's bull.. the bottom pic and the one link googled by m-ray are the only ones of his bull.. and I thought it netted 421 and 7/8"??? Oh well, its a hell of a bull!!

You know I never did find a net score where I looked when I googled :dunno: but for some reason I went by a magzine that I have at home here that say's it's 407 net and # 7 for archery kills. Maybe the publication is wrong ... I don't know at any rate it's a MONSTER!

My archery bull this year can now be officially scored after the 60 day wait period. I had a guy green score soon after the hunt and he has it at 380 gross so I am anxious to get the official score and see where it will land in the state book .  Net score should be mid 360 which would put it in the top four for sure and I will enter it. My taxidermist called a few days ago and has the cape back so I will be taking him the horns in a week or two to get it mounted up. He offered to rush the mount so I can have it for the Puyallup Horn Show. I know score doesn't mean much to most guys and to me the score is just a bonus for being lucky enough to harvest such a great bull. Scott
