Scouting Trip
« on: July 12, 2009, 07:04:16 PM »
btlsoom and I went to do some bear scouting this morning. Saw alot of elk,a few deer (mule) and (blacktail), and one smaller bear.
Lots of pics. but the bear was on the move so he did not pose. Saw an incredible amount of bear damage.
All in all was a great day for scouting. Weather was perfect.
This was the first time I had met Randy in person. Had a great time and met a good friend.

Wow!!!  What more could be said....

It looks like it made a great day.  Was this peninsula, east side or west side?

Wanna say I have been there but can't place it. Good luck this year. I am hoping to do more scouting as season nears. Got some cams out working since March. getting good bear pics.

great picture's. great looking calling area. Rick :)

These spots are great for calling. Especially this year as the berries don't look like they are gonna do very well at all.
With all the feeding going on in the stump fields. They should be more willing to come to the call.

This trip was not for me though. I don't hunt up there anymore. Too far from home.

I met btlsoom on the site a few months ago. He was looking for a place to hunt and is new to the area. After talking on the phone a few times he seemed like a great guy to take up there.

Sure was nice getting up to my old stomping grounds. Sure makes me miss hunting in the high country.

By the way. The bulls were sure vocal up there till about 10:00 a.m.
