Trail Camera = Success in the field

I wanted to see how many have been able to harvest any of the animals that they have taken pictures of with their trail camera's.  Does anyone of the trail camera pic along with harvest animal afterwards??  After watching several archery show's they name the bucks on the trail camera and after the harvest they mention that so and so took drop tine, etc.

The buck I shot this past year is in several of my trailcam photos.  I didn't realize it until later as he was a forkhorn and pretty typical looking.

I have taken 3 whitetails that I have trail camera photos of. The trail camera photos of the '05 and '07 bucks were taken from the treestand I arrowed the bucks from. The '08 trail photo was taken about 1/2 mile away from where I shot him.

In 2007 we got this picture, three days later I got him. This is the only one in four years that we have harvested off of the trail cams.

Those are great pictures.  Did you guys set up on the trails and wait during the times the activity was occuring?  It seems if you can pin point the deers activity and plan it right with the wind it could help out the success.  I know when I do a lot of scouting I see animals, but there are many factors that limit the quantity and quality of animals you may see on the west side.  I know I check out an area for a few hours, but that limited window or moving from one location to the next alows many hours of undisturbed time for the deer to do their thing.  I think the trail cams help be your eyes for the time you are out of your area.

As you can see in the photo it was 11:08. I shot him at 8:30 1/4 of a mile away from were the trail cam was. At this time of year in my area it seems the deer are in pre-rut during the last few days of general season, so they travel a lot more. Knowing this I use the trail cams more to let me know of the quality of deer in the area more than were to hunt on a certain trail. As for waiting on the trails at the same time as the pictures it would be a waist of time for blacktails since it is almost impossible to pattern them.
