I can't see the picture on my work computer, just making a post so I can come back and look later.
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Dead buck hanging on my wall! Crab claws.. Ads character. Management buck.. Fine with me. Free hunt on private prime land with no other people bothering me.. Priceless!

I have no idea what crab claws are, but that deer still sounds delicious.

That is one of my loftiest dreams in life, to own a ranch like that. Some friends of the family have a ranch in Oregon thats 700 acres or so. The woods are clean, no neighbors for miles, and there is an unspoken rule that if you trespass and try to set up a meth operation on someone's property, you will be murdered and your death will not be investigated.

Was you land owner friend fine with that being called a management buck?
I have the same question.  From the pic I would call that a nice 4X4 without crab claws.  Just because one tine is shorter than one might expect doesn't make it a crab claw in my opinion so I would not have shot that buck based on the instructions given by the land owner.  That's a good buck in my view. :twocents:

Buck is fine, no way in hell would I ever have restriction put on me where I hunt. And restrictions I am not talking state regs, I mean a certain property when it's open everywhere else to whatever. Nope I would find a new place to hunt. I glass up a 180" buck I am killing it. Not my cup of tea, to each his own

How in the world did you get that buck to sit still long enough to bury it?

Ya the landowner did not care he shoot that buck. He said it was fine with him. I passed up a buck almost like that buck the day before. I was not sure at what point a buck is crab claw or just not real very good forks. I shot a whitetail instead.

Glad to hear that the landowner wasn't pissed.  I am not sure I would consider that buck a "crab claw" either.  Looks like a great buck with one short tine.  I'd kill him in a heartbeat.

I'd slap him down just because of his eyeguards.  I think he got lucky they considered that a management buck, crab claw or not.  SWEET
