Frogg toggs?
« on: August 05, 2009, 10:42:47 PM »
I got a set as a gift last summer and I haven't worn them yet. Anybody give them a try? How rip resistant are they? 100% water proof? I'm going on a long backpack hunt this weekend and with rain in the forecast, I might put the frogg toggs in my pack. Their lighter then my other rain gear and pack much smaller so I figure they should be great for backpacking if thier not junk.

Sorry but in my opinion they are junk, bought two sets for the boat in case friends came and did not have rain gear and they were ruined after two uses and that was not going through any brush. Hope your set is better than my two were

They're OK.  I use them as a packable rain gear.  Wouldn't hunt in em for any length of time.  They've been good for me on a limited use basis.  I don't expect anymore than that from them though.

IMO, they are emergency use only, not very durable at all

I would say for light use light fishing in a boat they'd probably be great.

they are not quiet and they snag on EVERYTHING. but in a pinch they will keep you dry.
