I've seen a couple of decent deer on Whidbey Island over the years.  Most of my family lives there.  The problem with that place is that space is limited (it's an island ya know) and no one hunts there.  I've been watching a decent 3x4 on my dad's property for awhile now and if my high hunt doesn't go well in September...watch out deer!

Turkeys???  I have been out here on the Island for 28 years and killed plenty of Island blacktail,  most are small in the 125 # range,  but there are a few if you take the time that are much larger.  Biggest problem with Whidbey is most is private property and way too many tree huggers.  I have posted some trail cam picks of deer on my property and there are plenty but not a lot of big ones worth using your tag.  Now I want to know where the turkeys are.... only ones I have seen are penned up.  Don't doubt them being here wild as I have heard of them on Fidalgo and a few other Islands in the San Juans but never seen them.  So come on and tell us where are them birds??

I used to live just north of Mariners Cove and would see turkey out there occasionally.  Just tihs winter there was a group of them hanging out on the south side of oak harbor on highway 20 that all got shot because they thought they would cause an accident.  Did it in a guy that I work withs driveway.  I have 5 acres south of coupeville and there is 10 undeveloped acres next to me that I have thought about releasing turkey in, but there are so many coyotes around I think I would be wasting my money.
