Time to get the boat dusted off and catch some steelies. Anyone been down to the Cowlitz yet? Weeks worth of rain and cold should have some fish showing, any report would be appreciated.

Can we even get down there yet, is I-5 open? Can't wait to see what this last flood did to my favorite holes, going to have to learn them again this year.

my dad said the river never got above normal water for this time of the year. so now worries about a lot of water ruining things.. It's usually around 13,000 cubic feet in winter fishing time anyways, and it was only at like 13,500 when we had the rain and flooding on the chehalis a week ago! so its all good!

never got close to 70,000... but, I understand the different areas on the river and how water flow can affect them! Not trying to start anything...

no sweat...wasn't sure where you were talking, says the average flow at castle rock was about 13k, so i thought maybe i was in the right neighborhood.

My dad and his buddies fished the Barrier Dam/Blue Creek area Thurs - Sat, and caught at least 4 each day. Sounds like there's some fish in.

i just read a report on another (fishing) site that a guy and his kid in a guide boat limited on the cow in 2 hours of fishing...all hatchery fish, ranging 4-15 pounds and all in good shape. first fish hooked 50 yards into the first drift.

Largest Steelie I ever caught was at Blue Creek, I had never been there before. A buddy and his dad took me along on a Jan night about -5 degrees. It was midnight when we started fishing, bizarre to me I had never fished globalls at night before. I couldn't see where I was casting at all, just totally guessing as I had never been there, when all of a sudden WHAM. A 16lber chrome bright took off and I could hear it jumping, but couldn't see it. Great fun.
