I might be if I can't close the deal on a high country muley with the bow. I think the muzzy hunt is by far the best time to hunt big bucks in Hancock.

We'll see how the archery season treats me but I do plan on it though I think the mashel side does not have an early Muzzy season. Where does the Puyallup unit start in Kapowsin? Is it on the bridge gate side?

im pretty sure its all in the mashel. this years maps show the GMU's
No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

The late muzzy season is when all the big bucks come out. And hardly any other hunters in there.

Well, I won't be able to hunt early archery or modern general, so I guess I'll have to chase the big bucks in the rut.   ;)

Is the Mashel open for late archery?  I don't remember seeing that.  I might be up there for late muzzy, hopefully I have a nice muley before then though.

The muzzy season will be later than usual this year. It could be a tough hunt. The best time to see big bucks in Hancock is early November.

Agreed but now there isn't a hunt in there anymore during that time. I think the quality of bucks has gone down since they ended the special hunt, what do you think Doug?

I think the quality of bucks is still about the same. The biggest factor in there is weather. If there is stormy weather
at the end of october or in late buck there will be plenty of big bucks killed. This year late buck is a bit to late to expect real good hunting but muzzleloader season is way to late. Anybody could get lucky however. Best of luck.

There is a early November hunt if you have a fat wallet. :chuckle:
