Need help with sweet spot for BOSS
« on: July 15, 2009, 07:50:45 PM »
I have a browning A boltII in 300wsm and was curious where to start for the "sweet spot" I will be shooting Fusion in 180 grain. I have looked on their website but it does not list the ammo
Judge if you want, we are all going to die.

I intend to deserve it.

Howdy, Teacherman has a BOSS on his browning A Bolt 7 mm mag.  We started at the middle of the micrometer adjustments and played a little both directions to see what the results where.  I am sure it will be differn't with each rifle and caliber.  It definatley tighted the group up thou.  It takes time because we would take a shot with the barrel cold then wait until it cooled back down again.  We cheated a bit with 2 shot groups for awhile.  Have lots of ammo and targets.  Lots of time helps too. :)
I've slowed down enough in my old age to finally let the game catch up to me

On the website it list winchester ammo 180gr pp and 180gr fs.  The PP setting is at 1 and the FS setting is at 3.  So I am curious as where to start. Should I start @ one and go through a lot of ammo?

You can skip a few numbers for effect but you will go through lots of ammo.  Time to start reloading :IBCOOL:
