Scouting tommorrow!
« on: July 17, 2009, 05:56:43 PM »
Going scouting tommorrow. I dont have a great camera but I will try and get some decent pictures. I'm going to a spot where I seen over 30 bears in four outings last year, 33 to be exact so hopefully they are still using the area.

I'm also going this weekend with a good camera so we will see what I can get.
Grain, where do you go since maybe we hit the same areas and we can combine forces.
Maybe PM me so not to let everyone know :IBCOOL:

Is that a 3' 0"  and a 3' 3" bear? Personally, I would let them grow up.....believe me, my 4' 0" rug isn't that great accept for that it is a blonde bear....

It's an area with three clearcuts, two about sixty acres one about 30 acres. I'm going up around stevens pass. Yep iceman if your talking about last years bears they were both little small but I will almost always take the first bear of the season even if it is small since I am a meat hunter first. After the first one is on the ground I hold out until I see a big one and the biggest I saw last year after the first one was about 250 pounds and I wanted something bigger. As for the scouting trip lots of poop and tracks but I did'nt see any yesterday berries were not quite ripe but in two weeks time I would think they would be perfect and the bears will be out feeding and showing themselves a little more.
