2009 bear season
« on: July 15, 2009, 08:49:29 PM »
Had to add something in here...

politics is getting too depressing.

Good luck to all this upcoming season. Be safe!

I'd shoot the first decent bear I saw. I would like a color phase bear or one with a big blaze though.

I voted "first bear I see".  I am going for my first bear but obviously I am not going to shoot anything to small or with cubs.  Just looking for a decent bear in an area I can harvest it without it spoiling.  This heat is going to be brutal.  Early morning and late evening hunts unless it is near the truck or a creek.  Any respectable bear will be a trophy for me.
Definitely not another spouse...but maybe a dirty little sow for a mistress.    :chuckle:

OK, I have but one Bear. I could have taken more over the years, but I have one. I bought tags for my two boys and I again this year and hope to get them in the high country once Baseball season is over. This'll be the first time for them roughing it on a long hike and bivwackin it so to speak. So, I won't shoot anything unless it's bigger than the one I've got. Yet I won't let either son shoot something with a mangie coat of hair. Still I'd like either of my boys to get a Bear. That would be really cool.

Mamma wouldn't like the taxi bill, but that'd be really cool.

First, I want my girlfriend to get her first bear.

Then I want to get one that's just slightly bigger...  If it's bigger than my last year's bear, and has a nice color phase, we'll do rugs.  But, we primarily want the meat.

I voted "nice hide".  I would like a decent sized bear with a nice hide so I can get it rugged out.  I would like to try to take it with my 45 Colt Blackhawk, but if I can't get close enough the 30-06 will have to do the job again.
