Re-finished a muley shed last night. Here are some before, during and after pictures. I like to start with a couple light coats of a lighter stain(oak), then a few with a darker stain, and finally go back and rub and ruff some off to add realism. I get a little better each time I do one-about a dozen more and i might have it figured out

What do you do to fill the cracks? How about pics of the product and colors you used.

I tried a couple wood fillers that were supposed to take stain, but they never looked right. Still experimenting with that. I did rub some boot grease on when I was done.....Don't expect your first ones to look good-it takes some practice-I ended up with lots of yard art

What do you use to rub them down with afterwards to lighten spots up?
