While reading over the hunting rituals I got to thinking about a kid I know that is a die hard hunter and kills a lot of animals, but he blows chunks every time he guts one, really funny when he does it, just curious if any of you have the same problem or other funny "guttin" stories?

I can't think of any "gutting" stories but that's pretty funny that a hunter pukes every time he cuts open a deer.

I think if I were him I'd give up on big game hunting. Does he do the same thing with smaller game such as grouse?

my youngest still gags the whole time,he hates the smell

my nephew got his first deer this year, paunch shot it on the first pull, he asked if i would clean it he could "watch and learn", uncles reply, ah, no, he swallowed real hard a couple times but got through it, had no issues while holding legs while i did my elk a week and 1/2 later

Sorry MuleySniper I couldnt resist. I know you will try to tell everyone it was from my farts and not the turkey. It was the turkey. Some people just have weak stomaches, no shame.

The only one that has ever made me gag was when I had to gut my buddy's deer last year that his shot hit the guts. THAT was sick.

I will have to see what happens.....

.... my real fear is I will faint

I will get over it but it is entirely possible at some point I will go lights out.......

I gut fish, and have helped with the birds, have picked up plenty of nasty dead things that no one else wanted to deal with...been up to my elbows in many sheep and horses doing deliveries gone wrong.....so I can do gross....lancing abscesses and flushing them there's another job I do well.... but blood often causes me to faint and fall down

I have never puked but I almost always gack a few times when I'm gutting. Not always, but usually. Just about everytime I changed a crappy diaper too.

Thats what I do even on turkeys. I breast em and cut the legs off. No guts.

I know a guy that is the exact same way. Great hunter, at least 2 whitetails in P&Y Books (and I think an elk, but I wouldn't swear to that), has killed tons of deer, bear and elk. Pukes every time he guts one. His brothers give him hell...

Nope, never had a problem with gutting any animal. Takes a lot to get me to throw up and it hasn;t happened yet. I lost count of how many gut shot deer I've gutted (not mine). Worked at a processor skinning and gutting critters. Done about everything. Even an Emu. I don;t think birds get much bigger than that other than an Ostrich.

Speeking of gut shot deer . . . . .The deer I shot last year was kinda sorta gut shot. Bullet went right in behind the shoulder and when it hit the rib cage on the other side it fragmented and part of it went into the stomach.

BTKR was sure complaining about the smell.

Though I am sure glad he was down their to help me get that bugger out.

Nah...blood and guts are nothing. No big deal. My problem is when I see someone else or a dog, or what ever hurl.....I will hurl on top of there hurl.....

No problems with deer or any other big game. Did a mess of rabbits when I was in England and after I got done gutting and skinning 30 of them felt like a$$, the smell was bad.

For me it's not the blood or guts. It's the smell.

OK...you win. I let everyone know my weakness and now I have to clean out my keyboard. Those deer videos are way too funny! A couple of years ago my buddy shot a muley that had a privious wound. Of course it was infected. Out of all my years of hunting, when we cut him open, I have NEVER smelled a deer that rank before. It was so bad that my buddy dawned a resperator just like the guy in the video. We even had the game warden look at it and he said that the deer was pretty much spoiled and gave my buddy another tag. Once gang green sets in the toxins spread to the rest of the body. That was really bad!

Only time it affected me was when I was around 13 or 14 and helping my dad gut a moose he just killed. I got a little queasy and darn near passed out. Something about pulling out that 30 lb liver just about killed me off right there.

My dad gave me a call at work a couple of years back saying that he had just stuck a bull and wanted me to come help(he gets the whole season off

) Anyway it takes me a couple hours to get to him and by the time we find his bull it was getting a little bloated. So needless to say as he started to gut it he poked the gut and a little of the green gut juice squirted up on his mustache. He immediatelly started doin the dry heave, was one of the funniest things I have ever seen, no matter what he did he could still smell it, damn near pissed myself.

One of y buddy will start puking if you just gag a little. So whenever we cut up an animal I do a couple fake gags and he runs over to the side and starts heaving. Its so funny.
