New A-Bolt Stock?
« on: August 14, 2009, 11:24:15 PM »
Looking for a new stock for my A-Bolt to buy in the next couple years, since mine is HEAVY, and has a crack in it, sut looking, no idea if I will ever do it, but what do you guys think of this one:

Looks cool to me, just wouldn't be the best stock for all types of hunting, would be good for the high country though, but not for lower deer hunting where deer can be spotted moving and you only have limited time to shoot.  Does anyone swith the stock for different types of hunting?

Take a look at McMillan stocks, they are nice but a bit pricey.  MPI makes a good synthetic as well, they are in Portland.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I was thinking the gun shop up in Port Angeles just might have a used A- Bolt stock hanging on the wall.  Not sure but it seems like it.  If you want me to check let me know.

look on ebay for a  factory synthetic takeoff stock. i wouldn't buy a boyds stock with the intent of saving weight...aside from that it would be a fine stock to choose.
 :dunno:
you could also look at bell and carlson stocks, they're decent.

I was in the gun shop in Port Angeles today.  He has a very nice used factory wood A-Bolt long action stock for sale.  He is asking $50.00.

No problem.  It's been there for a year.  I bet it'll be there for another year.
