Well I should be ordering one on monday. I looked though the 4-12 vortex diamond local an it had a blue ring on the out side edge an so did the viper :dunno: I didnt notice it on the crossfire. I looked though a pentax an it was pretty nice, konus seemd to be right there too. I havent found a leupold, bushnell 3200, or nikon to look though yet .

wierd. i have 2 and neither of them have a blue ring.

Agreed...pentax/Burris is your best option in that price range.
The only thing I don't like about my Burris FFII is the eyepiece rotates when you change power..only a problem if you use Butler Creek lensecovers.
Do not buy a VX-1...your getting lame glass, and friction adjustments.
Leupold should be ashamed of those.
Nikon Team Primos for $199 is the best deal going.
Re blue ring...were you inside and under flourescent lights?  Shouldn't be there.....

Check out ebay.com

Should be able to buy a used Leupold Vari-X II 3 -9 x 40mm for $200....

No worries then

I'll say it one more time

That Pentax is a great deal for $159.  On a cheaper scope like that I'd stay with the lower power (3-9x)
