I guess my outlook is a little different.

The more dead cats the better.

to those of you who have permits, I am sad this chap was caught and you lost one cat. I do hope that he can fall under the loophole that the bear baiters have used. I have never in my life seen more cat sign and I live and hunt in cat country. I look at myself as a pretty ethical hunter, but I might have a tough time passing a cat up if it was close to homes or livestock.

I'm with you guys, the more cats killed the better, maybe the deer numbers will go back up to when hound hunting was legal. And I'm not just talking about the permit units, I'm talking about the whole damn state. Hopefully one of these days the wdfw will wake up and re-instate hound hunting. I'm sure they can put all kinds of hard to understand regulations and permits on the season, but just give it back.  >:(

You will have to convince the voting public in this case, since they outlawed the hound hunt. Good luck with that...  :dunno:

I know there are afew attorneys on here so maybe one of them can set me straight on this.

My understanding is that the houndhunting, bear baiting, and body gripping traps was introduced on the same bill, which is a violation of the states constitution. that is where the bear baiters were getting off the hook.......someone clear it up for me please.

Bear baiting, and hounds, ie chasing bobcats, lions and bears were on the same bill.  Trapping was outlawed on a later bill.  The bear baiters got off in one county...Jefferson (I think).    You will still get prosecuted, property and dogs confiscated and have large legal bills in the rest of the state.  Also only works if you get the RIGHT judge, not some liberal POS.  Yes IMHO (which really means nothing) it is unconstitutional, but there have been several legal challenges to the constitutionality and they have been shot down at every turn.
