Anyone have one? Your thoughts for west side brush hunting (w/ the stainless model)? Looks like a perfect choice for close in targetry to me...

They are great guns. I have had both the Blackhawk and the Super Redhawk and work out great in the bush. I have taken Javalina and 2 deer with them and my room mate dropped a HUGE brown bear while we were in Alaska with one. If I had the money, I would have anotherone.

I like my bisley super blackhawk 7 1/2 in barrel. The only thing I would change is the grips and I can't. Because hogue and pac don't make any for the new model super black hawk. The originals aren't bad, but I sure would like to put a set of hogues on it.

i baught one in january this eyar for deer. put a scope on it and wasnt to confident with it past 30yds even with the scope. so i took the scope off and used it as my brush gun instead. man it sure was nice to carry compared to a enfield 303british or my winchester 30/30 both weighting the same about 6lbs.
imo a 44mag revolver is a perfect brush gun, the key to brush hunting is bullet weight (not so much velocity) and being able to move quickly. ive purposely shot at a target with branches in front of it
up to 1/2" thick at20yds with a target 15ft behind it to see how the bullet will react when it hits a branch. and most branches are not even 1/2" thick that people hit. and after seeing 7 out of 10 shots in the kill zone it was enough to convince me that a 44mag will work perfectly as a brush gun.
and like i said they are alot easier to carry then a rifle. even a small 30/30.

You can not beat a Ruger .44 mag for a brush gun. I carry my Redhawk every where I go when I am in the woods... Never know when you might need it.
