Medical Lake Mulies
« on: July 20, 2009, 11:13:42 PM »
Saw a ton of deer around Medical Lake today and I happened to have my camera.

Never even noticed the second deer til I looked at the pic.

My daughter spotted this deer from the truck.  I was so impressed that I took an unzoomed pic.  Do you see it?

Some bucks I saw, including some really nice ones.

Some different angles on the same deer.

Gorgeous bucks. A guy I knew who drove truck from Spokane to Seattle showed up in Seattle with a bumper full of deer one AM. He was traveling along 90 right near Medical lake when he clobbered a nearly 30" muley :'(. Some good bucks in that area.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to hunt that buck.  I saw all these right off Hwy 902.  But I know there is a deer around where I can hunt that's even bigger.

There are tons of muleys in Medical Lake.  The biggest concentration of deer is on restricted state/city property.  A few winters ago, I counted 80 (yes... 80) deer in a 15-minute period while driving around Eastern State Hospital/Pine Lodge CCW area.  There not "spooky" and you can get some really nice up-close pictures.  Just don't stop for more than a few seconds or get out of your vehicle when driving around (ESH/PLCCW)... you'll get jacked-up by security/correctional officers... I used to work at the prison.

This past winter, we had a bunch of deer come deep into my neighborhood (even had deer crap in my backyard)... which was a big surprise.

I even saw two whitetail about a 1/2 mile east of West Medical Lake last month... freaked my out!   :yike:

That's exactly where I took the first 2 pics.  The others were on the other side of town.
