The biggest one was right smack in the middle.  Have to get him going to water right at dark.  It was interesteing to see how he kept himslef in the middle the whole time.  The top one in this case was about the only easy kill.

Cool... that is very cool... the area I will be hunting this year has a LOT of high rock... I better keep an eye up there!!

Cool idea Bone!  Any more innocous info that you could put out: ____-facing ridge, time of day, temperature at photo, high temp for the day, proximity to water and food, proximity to agriculture area or towns, approximate elevation, stuff like that.  Not trying to find your hole, but I'm sure there are lessons here that you could teach volumes about without giving up where it is.

Photo was takin between 4 and 5 o clock .......about 7,000 feet.   LOoooooNG WAYS from the nearest road.  Sun had been cooking those rocks for hours.  Temp was triple digits in town.   It was hotter than hell.

Surprising to hear of them staying in the sun that long on a hot day.  Must be water somewhere close that they would get up and wander over to a couple times each day?  Our deer lay in whatever shade they can find until the sun goes down; then the *censored*s come to eat my fruit trees to nubs and drink the dog's water; until September, that is, then they turn into fruit flies until November.

I have seen that they like those open areas to take advantage of wind to keep the bugs away from them. Those things can be annoying! Shade is good, but cool shady areas, well you know......
