 just got a hawkens woodsman and want to know if i can shoot sabot bullets with 1.48 twist

I shot 348 gr. power belts in the one i use to have and they worked just fine.

A Powerbelt is not a sabot. The 1 in 48 twist might be a little slow but it should work with the right bullet. I would try shorter bullets, which means lighter. I wouldn't go too light but I think you'd have better luck with the light to medium weight bullets.

1:48 is the "do it all " rate of twist. May not be ideal, but powder load adjustments can usually get acceptable accuracy from a variety of projectiles.

your right SORRY !!!!!!!!! :bash: really had my head up my as_ but it will shoot sabots just fine.
I just woke up when i wrote that reply,think i better have coffee before i reply that early again,my bad.

Depends on the individual rifle; my .54cal T/C Hawken with a 1:48 twist won't shoot sabots well, but prefers MaxiHunters, MaxiBalls, Buffalo Bullets or Great Plains Bullets. It only shoots a patched round ball "O.K."
