Klickitat Steelies

Has anyone been fishing the Klickitat River lately.  Was thinking about heading down that way and was wondering what condition the river is in.  Thanks

Just talked to a buddy of mine down there really slow and it looks like its gonna blow out anytime now with the heat.

Thanks for the info Klickman.  I think I'll still give it a chance.  Heck, what better way to spend a Saturday than standing in a river with a beer in one hand and a pole in the other?

Drove by it on Wednesday. It wasn't blown, but it wasn't perfect either. Still very fishable, which I was surprised being as it had been 100 degrees for a couple days. So who knows, it may not blow.

Rite on!  :rockin:  Hopefully it stays halfway decent.  If not, oh well, the beer will still be cold!  A bad day of fishing is better than a great day at work in my book.

Didn't hook any steelies, just a bunch of trout.  Oh well, still a pretty nice day on the river.  The river was actually in pretty decent shape for the weather conditions.  Talked to a few other people down there and they weren't doing any good either.  Oh well, it will pick up here in the coming weeks!

I cant imagine it beeing in shape at all with it only going down to the 70 at night here at the house. I know I will not make a trip this weekend, good luck.

This is a quick place to check the water flows.  USGS Real-time Data for Washington.  Scroll down to #14113000 Pitt, WA it's near the bottom of the page.  When flows are perfect for fishing there will be a slight jump in the flow,(not a spike) followed by a gradual decrease in flow.  Cold water off Mt.Adams is what we need right now. The water temp in the klickitat right now is warmer than I've ever felt it

It is pretty nasty looking now, the white salmon is even pretty murky looking the last couple days, tried to fly fish for trout last night on the upper white and the water was too murky.
