Trophy Spikes and Cows

Okay since our state sucks and the vast majority of us don't have a chance at harvesting a branch bull to enter into P&Y or B&C, because we have to shoot a spike or cow:  Lets make our own books up.  What do you say?  Lets start a Hunt-WA set of records for spikes and cows.  Here's the rules and regulations.  Oh there will also be a separate category for Roosevelts and Rocky Mountain Elk

Spikes:  Score them just like you normally would score a big bull.  Deductions apply.

Cows: Score them like you score a black bear.  By the size of the skull.

Requirements To Enter:
Enter a picture of the spike or cow with the score, date of kill and the GMU it was taken in.  You can enter any spike or cow killed this year or in the past.  Obviously we'll have to wait until this year to get some cow entrys unless one of you has a shoulder mount of a cow elk

great idea, i have seen some huge spikes, i have heard that they can regress or never get any bigger than a spike . dont know how true it is. but i have seen one thats spikes looked to be about 32"s

I've shot two spikes. This one is definitely much bigger. Ill get it measured up. Sorry about the blurry picture. Its a picture of a picture.

Wow, that is a great looking spike. I love how they curve out and then back in so symmetrically.

Nope it can be a 1x3 or 1x2 etc.  It just has to be a "legal spike"  but remember all P&Y and B&C rules apply.  If it's a 1x2 it's gonna have deductions etc.  So remember to factor in the deductions.

well hope you all have a good year hunting... i never could understand why a person would hunt for score... i guess i never had antler soup is all... no disrespect with this topic... this animal had its life taken away from it... all you can do for this animal is give it a score or mount it on the wall...branch, no branch bull, or cow elk all taste great the same to me... enjoy every hunt even if you miss... that feeling you get just before you squeeze that trigger... and the moment you squeeze for the kill...

Dude I understand why you feel this way.  But relax, it's all in good fun.  It's sort of a way of making fun of the WDFW.  We can't shoot big bulls so we'll make our own "tropy" club scoring spikes and cows.  All in good humor.  Now the problem is what the heck do we call this trophy club? Any ideas anyone.

If you guys think Firecrotch spike is big , you should have seen my budies, it was 48 inches long, both sides with real short brows like 2-3 inches long  Old bull that never had the forking genes is what the Bio said, that was one reason the went to that spike only for a few years on the west side. They were hoping to get rid of some of those genetics.
