it's an inspect and replace cam sensor. word is that 95% of the trucks on the road will need the cam sensor replaced. if it has been replaced after may of this year, it won't need to be replaced again, just inspected. it would already be the updated cam sensor. odds are good-great this recall will apply to your truck.

call the dealer with the vin # of your truck to make sure or wait for the mail. take my word for it, the dealer thanks you for waiting for the mail.  ;)

Not a ford but i just had to have all my injectors replaced in my 03 dodge. its been a PITA. Hopefully get it back in the next couple days.

kirkl...at least this week the parts will get to your neighborhood faster then mine. i've had customer's cars dead in the water all week waiting on parts that are coming around the I-5 detour thru yakima. the truckers are doing a great job though with what they have to work with. did you get those injectors under 7/70 warranty?

That damned sensor is the one that kept my partner and I from making it to our regular hunting grounds on the Eastside the second week week of modern!  I saw this this morning somewhere else.  He's a DIY mechanic (not me 5 yrs pro and now I gladly pay for oil changes and what not) but experience tells me that he can get the home repair paid for (or non dealer work too) with receipts.  FYI to anyone who has fixed this themselves, or paid to have it done somewhere else.  Show the dealer your receipts, you will not likely get the entire cost covered, but at least a portion of the parts bill should be refunded.

odds are that ford probably has some sort of recall hotline that one should call to get refunded. chrysler and gm does, and it won't be the dealers responsibility to pay you back, but the manufacturers.
you should be able to be reimubursed everything you paid, parts and labor, regardless of where it was done...at least in my experience in situations like this.

yeah I knew there was some method to this sort of thing, thanks lope.  You're the counter guy with the customers, I was always the one in back grumblin' about all the warrenty work you guys write and never being able to make time on those jobs.  More services please!  Always loved those 90ks...MMMMM gravy!

Im past my 7/70 but cummins has a 100k warranty on their engine so its falling under that. But i had this problem diagnosed before my 7/70 was up and they said they would of covered it after my warranty ran out cause they couldnt test it till this winter.
