What was your reason for going with a muzzle break? Do you find your self flinching or is the recoil hard on your shoulder?

Nice stick!

I'm a believer in brakes on anything larger than about a 7mm Mag... if you can't see what happens after you pull the trigger, it's a lot tougher to know where the shot went... hit or miss.

mine came that way.
 :dunno:
but it is nice to be able to watch where the shots hit in the scope.

Actually for me it was reconmendations, I'm not much of a firearm guy I like my bows  but I figured I needed one nice rifle set up. I weighed all the opinions I got on them and decided that the lower recoil and accuracy outweighed the extra noise. I don't currently flinch but with the lower recoil it will hopefully lesson my chances of developing one and I like the idea of not losing the target after the shot. I always wear plugs around my neck when I hunt waterfowl and uplands and this will be no different. It doesn't take much time to put them in if I see my dog getting birdy or have ducks coming in. I figure I can put them in fairly quick out deer hunting too!

Elk- I'm not sure who makes the brake, I have not gotten my invoice back from my buddy yet. It was a choice of the smith, whatever it is I'm happy with it, I like the way it spirals. As soon as I get the info I will post it all including the ballistic info.

For those who asked here's the info I have so far on the upgrades I had done.
Muzzle Brake is a Harrell's precision from back east somewhere, looks like they sell for about 30.00
Load Claude worked up for me is: 300 win mag, Hornady 180g Interbond, Fed. 215 primers, 76.8g of IMR 7828 pushing it at 3062 fps at the muzzle. Zero'd at 300 yrds with 8.85 inch holdover at 400. .18 MOA at 100 yrds whatever that means  :dunno: Not sure how this compares to other loads but it sounds like it will do me just fine. I wouldn't think about taking shots at over 300 anyway and would rather be within 200.

NW GSP- You'll need to call Claude for a quote as I would imagine each gun is different. PM sent.

You're right BLm and I would love to see what he does in person.

Hello guys...anybody know how to get ahold of Claude Kennard or Kinard and where he is located? Was sure thinking on having a brake installed on my Ruger M77 Mark11 7MM Mag. Looks really sweet. Thanks
