I heard Charlie does elk.  Seen a picture of a nice bobcat too, and seems like there was a housecat floating around here, OH maybe that was a different thread. LOL

Yeah, I'm so far behind I'm afraid.  Course it all ends up in the garage anyway.  Come to think of it I'll probably be officially moving there soon anyway.  Give me something to do when it cools off.

Bone, I hear you on the weather I am afraid to do anything right now. I have 5 salmon that I am going to start mounting on Monday, they are all mine so if the weather gets them I will just have to go catch more  :bash:

Talk about setting me back another week  :bash: Just cant mount stuff when it is too hot in the shop, everything dries too fricken fast. I was supposed to have the electrical done this week.....too fricken hot to do that  :bash:

I look at it like this.  If you are going to spend the $$ to have something mounted than spend the $$ and have it done right.  $why spend the $300 - $375 on a deer head that looks like crap and lasts for 6 or 7 years when you can pay an extra $100 - $200 on it and have it for life.  I mean what is the point?  To me that would be a waste of $300ish bucks.  If you are just going for antlers on the wall than do a Antler plaque or a European.  Why put it on a junky looking shoulder mount. :dunno:

Most Taxi's only require a deposit and most will take payments so if you have a hard time saving $$ or don't have all of it up front than thats alright.  Get up with a taxidermist and work out payments.

I agree with other comments.  Don’t use the cheapest, use the Best.  Kind of like optics, you get what you pay for.  Personally, I would only look at two:  Fidalgo in Anacortes and Bruce Tadeyske up in Lynden.  I have never seen anything but excellent work from both outfits.

Fidalgo Taxidermy in Anacortes is excellent.

Moro Bros in Lake Stevens have done a couple of deer shoulder mounts for me and they do good work.

He did a bear rug for me some years ago.  Turned out great.  Probably better than that first little bear of mine deserved.  His bear mounts and rugs are the best I've seen.

Garth and Tammy are top notch people and do quality work. They have done several mounts for me and each one has been beautiful. :twocents:
