I bought a williams peep........AND LOVE IT!!!
« on: July 31, 2009, 08:00:31 AM »
Holy smoke pole...why would anyone shoot a muzzlelaoder without a peep.  This thing is awsome.  5 shots at a hundred yards 3 inch groups.   I love it.  Next week I venture beyond 100 yards to 150-200??? :chuckle:

I been thinking of getting one for my hawken. What gun do you shoot? Did you have to change the front sight?   3" at 100 yards, very nice.

I'm shooting a TC Black Diamond XR.  I did not have to change my front sight and amazingly enough after mounting my williams I did not have to make any adjustments.  It was 2" high at 50 and dead nuts at 100.

I purchased the Williams peep sight but after sighting in I realized I needed a different front sight. I liked the fiber optic that came on the gun. I called Knight and they sent me the correct sight for no charge if I remember right. It is a green fiber optic.

I love the Williams peep sites. I have them on my Knight and my Marlin Cowboy 45-70. You won't go wrong with them.
One word of caution. If you go with the smaller peeps you won't be able to see well in low light. I have found that in low light I can take the peep out and shoot without it and as the sun comes up in the morning I screw the peep back in.

I like the low light peeps they sell for them with the little shiny ring around them.

On my 45-70 I shoot the BIG peep with the little tiny hole. Not sure if I like it yet. It's more for long range shooting and would not be good for hunting.

Midwayusa.com has a great sellection of these sites.

Yes, I love Williams peep sights; I have one on my Marlin 45-70 Cowboy and another on my Marlin 30-30 Cowboy.

I have a Lyman peep sight on my Lyman Hawken and I find it to be a great sight, as well.

With this peep sight 150 yards all day long  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

With a little more practice 200 yards is possible.  Yesterday 4/5 shot at 200 yards were in an eight inch target.

I was looking for the peep because I didn't see the Bighorn listed on that link.

So you need to change the front sight also?
