well, it is broken
he done a good job on it too. i will try and post the xray later. we got right in and they got him splinted up pretty fast, lke under an hour. he has to take it easy and probly be crated during the day for a while. all in all it was pretty painless except for the wallet. he is chillin out chewin on a rawhide now. he was pissed at me when we got home from the doctor.

Too bad for gauge, it's hard to keep them still enough for the bone to heal. My buddies GSP just got healed up after a broken toe.

Good on you though for nipping it in the butt right away. Sounds like he should be bale to heal ok if they weren't pushing to operate on it. Healing a dig is tough but just hang in there. I worked at a small animal hospital for almost two years and I have watched many dogs recover from broken bones. The best advice I can give is although it seems cruel keep him contained and calm as much as humanly possible and follow the doctors requests as much as possible. Hang in there you did the best thing for him by taking him in
We can't always control how our animals get hurt but we can do everything for them to make them better. Your pup might be mad at you now because he doesn't understand why he is locked up but trust me when his foot feels better he will love you for it.
