So, how many times have you sat there in-wait?  Could it be that he knows you're there? Can you find a different position to watch from? Are you using the same trail he comes in on? Could he be winding you? Change cover scent? Can you approach from a less noisy/downwind direction?

That picture of droppings next to the knife reminds me of the time I was hunting on Pope Resources property over in Jefferson Co.I saw a huge,fresh pile of poop with a bloody railroad spike sticking out of it.It looked like the ultimate"throw down"
