Definitely crabbing and fishing if you can..... I am not sure what you consider fun...I like just walking on the beach watching surfers and people flying kites... ;)

We use to go pick up the local chicks and  drink beer (and stuff) on the beach.  Other than that, fishin is going gangbusters.

If you don't like the heat that is a great place to escape it. Dad has a house down there and as soon as it gets hot here he heads for the sea fog down there. There are some huge Blacktail bucks down there. Problem is even though hunting is not allowed in Westport them crazy Blacktail bucks still do not show themselves all that readily. A client told me that the biggest buck he has ever seen was down there. He said it walked right out into the road following a hot doe and turned and looked at him. He claims it was as big as any mule deer he had seen. :yike: My dad also has nice bucks running down the street right in front of his house down there. None quite that big yet but some decent three points. Take a camera, you never know what will step out and give you a looksie.

Where is it open for salmon fishing? DO you need to be out a certain distance?  Can I take my boat and fish salmon just outside the jetty? North or South?  I thought I read something about it being closed around the jetty for salmon.

There is a triangle shaped area from one jetty out then down to the other side of the south jetty. We were about a half mile above the north jetty but small boats were everywhere it;s a safe bar unless there are big minus tides or wind and swell.

I might give that erea a try if  I can get my boat back soon. What was the hot bait or lure and how deep were you fishing. I'm not a salt water guy. I mostly stick to rivers but wanna learn some of these spots. PM me if you would like to keep it off the WWW.
