Hear a lot of good things about them and nearly all Tikka owners seem to love the rifles.

Congrats on the new rifle...

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

For sure, I have 3 Tikka T3 Lite rifles and I love em... they are very lite and accurate.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

I just picked up a Tikka T3 hunter in 300 WSM and it only weighs in at 6.5 pounds! Not bad for a wood stock. I dunno, unless I plan on being out in the miserable ice covered tundra in sleet and rain I just prefer the look of a wood stock rifle.  ;)

Now, took that bad boy to the Plantation range today and it seems I need to get a Limbsaver because that puppy sure can bark and has a bit of punch to it!  :o

Super accurate and smooth action. Very pleased so far.  :)

Those are really nice guns, you can feel the quality when you hold it and work the bolt

YOUR 300 WSM 6.5 POUND RIFLE WITH A 200 GRAIN BULLET AT 2900 FPS.
YOU WILL FEEL 41.7 POUNDS OF RECOIL HIT YOU.
THAT IS WHY IT HURTS.

Who'da thunk?  :dunno: My buddy told me to "man up & stop whinning!"  Thanks for the info. All I knew was that it wasn't all that pleasant!  :o Got the Limbsaver in the mail yesterday and am very excited to try it out. What a difference in the material from the original rubber pad!

Whats with all the Cap's OKIE2?

I want to get either a 7mm or a 270.  Was settled for a 270 but was asking around and the 7mm has me thinking as well.

How long has Tikka been around?

tikka is sako. so they've been around for a while. im not sure when the tikka line started but the barrels and parts are all cut on the same machines so your getting sako quality at tikka price. main difference being finishes but i love the look and feel of my tikka. its also the best shooter in the safe, i will buy more tikkas in the future, ive had this one for a little over a year with no troubles
