Bear Track Pic. How Big?
« on: August 02, 2009, 07:14:43 PM »
How big do you think this bear is?  .300 Win Mag bullet for comparison.
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

Absolutely no way to tell the weight by track size.

The hind foot is also a poor indicator of size.  If you want a decent "guess" you measure the width of the front pad.  Normally a 4 inch across pad is a 5 foot bear, 5 inch across pad is a 6 foot bear.  It at least gives you a rough idea.
