The biggest herd i have seen was in the Clockum. Back in 06 when I had the big bull tag. The herd that i shot my bull out of was about 30 elk. My son had the Peaches Muzzy tag last year and every bull that we ran into only had three or four cows, even the 7x7. I asked the Biologist about it and he said he was surprised there are lots of cows in the Taneum. Saw lots of bulls but not very many cows?

This group had at least 2 young 5x5s, a few spikes and forks, and a few nursing, one still had spots.
