Sure it's nice but we'd have better hunting if the number of hunters was limited in each unit. If people quit hunting for that reason, that's fine by me. I guess it would mean they're not that serious about it anyway. Oregon doesn't have any mule deer general seasons except for archery, and elk hunting in eastern Oregon for bulls is by draw only, and they don't seem to have a shortage of hunters. As I said, you could still hunt every year. You'd just have to apply for hunts that have a lot of tags.

I like the idea and would be all for it.... as long as it can be proven that the herds can sustain it and the east vs west were removed.

I agree with the thought as well that you'd have less crowding b/c not everyone woudl have to cram their hunting into the one or two weekends they have free during the season specified for their tag. It may actually engcourage some hunters to get our there and learn a new skill too which is good for the sport, but thats just a bi-product .

Too many people for what we have for game.  As much as I would love to do it, it would be bad management.

 :yeah:

Going to draw only hunting would give some awesome hunting opportunities BUT I like being able to go hunting every year not every couple of years!!!! and I dont think the state would ever do it because they would not make as much money as they do now...........

Thats exactly right.  I love to hunt everyyear but it would be pretty cool for what it might do for the game.   I'd like to see a compromise and have a couple areas that they might manage for trophy, such as the Firing center or Alta (course thats screwed with wolves now) or something like that.  I'd hate to give up hunting every year though.

I don't believe it would help our game management at all.  Not all hunters in WA hold out for mature animals.  If they could hunt all 3 general seasons, it would be a slaughter.

As stated above, the current "special permit: multi season hunt" is too expensive.  Its almost punative to get drawn.
