« on: August 14, 2009, 10:21:07 AM »
Just got my first trail cam...  only thing I'm unsure of is retriving pic's off the sd card. My puter has a sd slot...  do I just stick the card in it and the pics come up automadicly ? or do I ned a special program, or another piece of equipment ?

if you have a fairly new computer with an SD slot in it the pictures will just come up automatically, make sure that you just hit the open to review button, do not open it with something else, you will understand when the box pops up..

You should be able to just put the card in the slot and have a folder view of the pics come up. It might ask you what you want to do. Best way to find out is to test your camera in your living room so you know how it works and then look at the pics.  Make sure you are familiar with the camera operation before heading into the field.  Its amazing how much you think you know until you get out there and forget whether the camera needs to be in test mode or ON to do something. I know someone that went to the field and couldn't get the camera to work so they brought it home.  It was a nice 6 mile hike though.
