Leupold Pinnacle 10x42 Binoculars
« on: August 05, 2009, 09:17:48 AM »
I have the chance to pick up a paid or Leupold Pinnacle 10x42 binoculars for 299 when they are originally 499 and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them?  Any pros or cons or if they are worth that price would be much appreciated.

I have the pinnacle 10x42. Bought them before the gold rings came out, $550ish. Great glass for the money @ $299 you are stealing them. Every glass has some flaw. On these there is some chromamatic aberration but very little much less than any other glass in that price range, at least to my eye. They also had the highest reviews in that price range when they came out. They also are the only pair except goldrings made in japan not china, if that matters to you.

Have a pair and love them. You can't beat Leupold's warranty. For $299, you are getting a great buy, get two pair if you can.

Thanks for the feedback I actually am buying a pair because you can not beat the price.  They are at Cabelas and the sales rep told me if I buy them online and don't like them I can bring them back anytime I want even if it is 3 months later.  So that sold me on it because I will be able to try them and return if don't like to.  Here is the link if anyone else would like to get a pair.

I have a pair and really like them. I took off the fancy eyecups and just use the plain ones. 299 is a great deal.
If you dont like guns...DONT BUY ONE!!
