twisting peep
« on: August 07, 2009, 06:36:06 PM »
i bought a new  mathews drenlin recently and the peep started twisting a week or so ago.my old bow had the surgical tubing that kept   it straight.   is this something i will have to adjust before every shot?  or will it break in and get better?
you cant eat the horns, but backstraps look like crap on my wall!!!!

I have a Drenalin & had to twist mine until I " trained it ".  Now is straight always. Didn't take long. Mike

Use a portable bow press and take one end of your sring off of the cam. Give it a half of turn in the direction the peep needs to turn and putt it back on.

Yeah that, even the strings that don't stretch or creep have to align them selfs coming off the cams, usually 50-100 shots. Once they are set in place they should be good.

it should work itself in after shooting (than maybe turn the string). I went to a 90 degree peep a few years ago, it will allow the string to twist without impairing your vision.
not sure what peep you got?

mathews strings are not that good, i have shot thousands of shots and my string is still off a little. they cant put a twist in the string because it is not a quarter turn off,so i just automatically turn the peep before the shot.
