Morning Hike (Nice Whitetail)
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:53:42 PM »
I went on a hike with my oldest daughter this morning.  She wanted to take her pink BB gun for the bears, but I knew I would be carrying her and the gun on my shoulders by the end of the trip.  We ended up just takng the camera.

Having seen Pope's dragonfly pics I tried and settled for some of them sitting on a flower.  I have new respect for those photos.

My little hiking partner too.

Awesome!  There is really something magical about the pure happiness a kid has when they enjoy what they are doing - great job capturing that look on your daughter's face.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Nice bucky and the colorful butterflies.  The pic of innocence is priceless.

Thanks guys, I am trying.  I think I need to take a tripod or monopod out with me on some of the standing shots though.  I am not happy with the crispness of my shots at around 100 yards, and I think that may be because of hand shake, even with the IS?  I'm sure you veterans can tell how much sharpening I had to do to make that standing whitetail look halfway decent.  Next time out I'm going to throw the tripod in the pack and do some long range test shots.
