After it gets air dry, put it in a ziploc freezer bag with baking soda.  I saved a GPS unit that way.

I took the battery out immediately and it was shut off when dunked.  I will try that.  There is water on the inside of the lens and no matter what I bet I will have residue on it.  I suppose thats best case scenerio.  Unfortunatly I can't find a way to open up the lens.

Dry it out somewhere warm - car dashboard, patio on a breezy day, etc.  Give it a week of reasonably passive drying and try it.

Resurrected a Canon A540 that way, but it only fell in 1" of water in the bottom of the canoe...I still use it.

If that doesn't work, before you give up on it - with the battery out, wrap it in a cotton bandana, place it in a sealed ziplock freezer bag filled with uncooked rice.  Put it on a black baking pan or other black surface, and leave in direct sun for a day.

I've resurrected more than one wetted electronic device using this method.  For the first stage, I'm a big fan of the dashboard of a sealed up vehicle, parked facing the sun.  Be sure to remove batteries beforehand.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Hey Bone, you can borrow my camera if you want to for this weekend.  All ya gotta do is come up and take some pictures of some goats with it.  Seriously, I remember you saying that you needed some goat pictures.  Wanna go for a hike saturday and do some goat scouting up by baker?  Bear

Well Bone, lets just leave it at an open invitation then.  We'll be up there probably every weekend for the next while.  I think streak was gonna talk to timber about going up.  I think timber is planning on going on the hunt if it works out and doing some filming too.  I am serious though, anytime you want to go up and take some goat pictures, just give me a shout and we can probably work something out.  Good luck on saving the camera.  Bear
