When hunts are cut off from the public, people start to wonder why animals get hit by cars.......

Gosh um.. I won't be leaving a comment. You all seem to have written what I would have.

I posted but I don't see it up there yet.  It's weird how much they put in there about BC grizzlies!  It has nothing to do with us in WA.

There's nothing in there about protecting all the poor innocent huckleberries that the bears eat each year.  Something must be done!

Posted my comment.

Quote
I cannot believe the ignorance of this article.  1500 bears are killed out of how many?  25000-30000! How many bears would Washington have if there was not a liberal hunting season on them?  The bear population would grow exponentially.  With no natural predators other than man this would lead to mass starvation, disease and human conflict.  That does not even count what would happen to other wildlife and natural resources.   The WDFW has implemented a season on them that keeps the bear population at an acceptable level using actual science and not emotional drivel from the Disney crowd.  Have these anti hunter groups given any thought to what would happen to the bear population without hunting?

Most bear hunters EAT the bears they kill and try to use the rest of the bear in other useful ways.  As for killing sows with cubs this can happen any time of the year.  Cubs are Dependant on their mothers for at least a year.  Killing a sow with cubs is not common because hunters are not the mindless killers you try to paint them as.   The most effective way to prevent killing of a sow with cubs is to use bait.  But as you know this is now illegal due to these anti hunter groups that do not think about what consequences their action will have on the wildlife they are naively trying to protect.
I know it is hard for some of you but please at least try to THINK before you condemn bear hunters.

Good job guys!

I was very happy to see how you all defended our rights.  When they make ridiculous statements, like they sometimes will do, put their ass to the  :fire.:

Good lookin out Gobble, for the good spotting.
