Huskemaw

Anybody else here use the Huskemaw Scope?  If so, what are your thoughts?

Saw them featured on "Best of the West".  Their rigs are very impressive... also very pricey.

I shoot the huskemaw and so far so good!!! I got it on a 300 remington ultra mag Sendero!!! Need to do more shooting on paper at longer ranges. We will see how it turns out. Also the scopes are back ordered until NOV!!! Somebody is buying them!!

I would be curious to find out who they use for their optics.  I would look into getting one if it weren't much cheaper to go with a Leupold and a M1 turrett.  For 150 bucks they can turn the one you have into pretty much the same thing. Plus you don't have to deal with that smug son of a bit#* Aaron Davidson.

Every scope I've owned before has been a Leupold.  They have all been fantastic.  I gave the Huskemaw a shot with a nightforce rail and rings, and am really impressed.  Putting in the time to get your load and gun ready has been time consuming, but so far well worth it.

I don't think they do anything that can't be done with a Leupold... and they're just down the road if something goes wrong. Can't say the same for a scope comming out of China. I do like the 2moa wind lines on the horizontal crosshair though... but if you need 2+ minutes of wind... you ought to think about passing on the shot... at least if it's at fur.

I'm also getting ready to have a turret build by the leupold custom shop.  I am a little nervious on how precise this scope will be as they only ask for a few things before building it.  Huskemaw seems a lot more precise on covering every angle of a perfect turret.  Also, their ballistic program on the website is very precise.

I have the leupold turrnet tops on about six of our rifles and they work excellent. We have shoot them at known ranges out to 1000 yards at targets and milk jugs and retuned them to the zero position and they have been exact you won;t have any problems with there tops and if there is any they are just down the road.

Go with Leupold, JoshT helped me sort my scope out and I love it!! Shoots awesome and the turret is pretty darn good. If I remember right the Huskemaw is pretty heavy...

The Huskemaw is fairly heavy. My sendero with the Huskemaw, bipod and sling weighs in at 13.2lbs which is quite a bit. It lists the Huskemaw at 23oz. The equivalent Leupold weighs in at 14.4 oz. So you also save on weight and every little bit helps at the end of a long days hike. I am going to probably try the Leupold turret this next spring.

The guys at Huskemaw told me that they were wearing out the Turrets on the Leupolds and sometimes the would not return to there true zero, they asked Leupold to build them a scope but leupold refused to change anything so they designed there own.  The are made in I believe he told me China, using night force glass, at the I think he said Burris or Simmons factory?  I liked mine a lot didnt have any problems with it but when someone at work traded me for a new in the box Leupold Mark 4 with illuminated recticle I went for it, just because I trust Leupolds warranty a little more so than a new company out on the market, who knows how long they will make it in the hunting industry and that worried me.  Overall the scope was very clear and in low light conditions it was right there with Leupold, I didnt think it was overlly heavy but I never weighed it either, it didnt bother me because my gun is not an ultralight anyways.  Check em out you probably will love it.

I have the new Leupold VX 3L CDS. Its on a 300 win mag christensens arms custom rifle. We set up the home loads, and sent the specs. off to Leupold. Ten days later they sent me my new top cap for the scope and its good out to 800 yds. I have shot it out to 750 yds. from a good rest accuratley. This is their latest and greatest scope for 2009.
