Right on tmbrline!  I haven't made it around to sending my Leupold off yet, but am excited to.  Been spending at lot of time with the Huskemaw and am very impressed.  Groups inside 12" at 1000.  Trying to get it down to 8".  Sure is fun to shoot long range!

Wholesale SPorts sells them now.  I just heard that for a custom turret, you are REQUIRED to send the gun and scope to BOTW and they charge an additional $700 labor for customizing your turret to your gun and load.

i like them but don't love them i can do just as good as job with my leupold vxIII long range with varmit hunters ret. i have shot them and they work good but a pain in the but to get one then send it in with your gun to have them do all the crap and gets very spendy as well you are better off to buy there gun setup already if you want to shoot that system

If you develop a load, put your time in with your gun, and use their ballistic program, all you have to do is give them your data and what elevation you want your turret built for and they build you a turret for free (when I bought mine).  Each additional turret is around $90.  Last I heard, if you bought one lately, they will build you 2 free turrets.  If want them to do the work building your gun,  send them your gun and bullets (of which are to be proven accurate) then for around $700 they will finish the rest of it for you.

That makes more sense.  I have a hard time going with "ballistic programs" only.  I loaded my data on theirs and others software and they have been off.  I tested my load out on a couple chronys to make sure it was at the correct velocity,  put in the bc of the berger 175 and ran the data.  Both software programs told me it would be 106 clicks at 1000 yards.  Went out and shot it according to their software and found out that I needed to be about 97 clicks.  Pretty far off.  I would recommend to anyone doing a custom turret to shoot at different ranges to determine the actual "drop" of the bullet.  They can determine the turret from there.

LAST FALL I HAD MY 7MM REMINGTON MAG STOLEN OUT OF MY TRUCK. I CLAIMED IT ON MY INSURANCE AND RECIEVED CASH TO REPLACE MY RIFLE. I WENT OUT AND GOT A REMINGTON SENDERO AND PUT A HUSKEMAW SCOPE ON IT. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I AM HAPPY THAT MY GUN WAS STOLEN. I NOW HAVE THE BEST SCOPE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND THE ABILITY TO SHOOT AT RANGES I NEVER IMAGINED. I LOVE IT AND WON'T GO BACK TO ANY OTHER BRAND OF SCOPE. I WILL BE ORDERING ANOTHER SCOPE FOR MY 7MM THAT WAS LATER RETURNED TO ME!!!!!

It looks to me like you're experiencing the same things I did.  Remember, the bc of the bullet and the true bc are totally different.  True bc is what you're looking for.  As for recommending shooting at different ranges, that is mandatory.  I've put in over a hundred hours, a couple hundred rounds, shot elevations of 800-7500ft, shot in temps from 20-95 degrees, and shot yardages from 100-1300.  I'm sure there are many of guys on here with more experience than me that could have done this in half the time with way less shots, but I chose to do this myself.  It was a valuable learning experience, and with the next gun, I will be steps ahead.  By the way, it will be another Huskemaw.

Good you did your homework.  I don't like the idea of "buying" a 1000 yard gun.  People think they can get out of doing all the work and understanding your rifle and ballistics and just dial it up and pull the trigger. 

I will never own a Huskemaw for a couple reasons.  1. They are too heavy.  2. Aaron Davidson is such a pompass a$$.  He pushes his crap with conviction on everyone.  I can't stand the guy that says everything I own is crap and that I should sell it all and buy into his ideas.  On top of that I think his show is done with ALOT of editing.  They don't show you a lot of stuff on there.  They shot an elk at 890 yards the other day.  The first picture shows the elk feeding naturally about 20-30 yards apart.  When they are ready to shoot, the two elk are stacked on top of each other and highly alert.  Probably because the first shot was a miss that was edited out.  They are selling a false reality that they are doing all these "one shot kills" at 700 plus yards and that anyone can do it if they just buy their "shooting system". 

I notice another thing on that show.  They go out on the first hunt and see an animal too far to shoot. The show doesn't show the shot. Wouldn't you know it, later in the day they show them at the range shooting.  So I am guessing they took a pot shot at the animal, were way off, and went back to the range to see if the hunter can actually shoot that far.  YOu would think they would shoot at the range BEFORE the hunt.   

Like I said, there is a lot of editing done on that show that creates a false reality at the expense of big game.

I think if you want to try to shortcut to long range accuracy, the Huskemaw may be a way. I think you'll wind up finding out that like many shortcuts, they're not the preferred method. I prefer my Leupolds. I put my time in on the range, and have complete trust in the golden ring.

I'm sure like most other hunting programs, there is A LOT of stuff edited and re-acted in order to make it better for the viewing audience.  By no means am I saying Huskemaw is the only way to go.  I just invested in their product to give it a shot after knowing a few friends that were impressed with theirs.  I'm very happy with mine.

I might agree with you Wile E, that if the ordinary hunter has a rifle built by them thinking that they are ready to shoot 1000 yds with little effort preparing.  On the other hand, my no means is my Huskemaw a 'shortcut' to shooting long range.  It's no different with any other scope that offers custom turrets or moa turrets.  It's the choice you make on which brand to use.  I am a big Leupold fan, and am going to have them build me a turret for another rifle when I have time.  With the research I've done on choosing the best for me, the Huskemaw seemed way more in depth on covering all aspects of the shot.
