What do you think of these?

Has anyone ever used a pair of the Binos :PROMASTER INFINITY ELITE if so what did you think about them?

OK, here is where Promaster naming policy gets fouled up.  There is the Promaster Infinity Elite and then there is the Promaster Infinity Elite ELX ED.  They are two very different binoculars.  The former is a rather typical, lower mid priced binocular quite similar in image to something like a Nikon Monarch.  The ELX ED is a completely different and a whole lot better binocular.  So which one is it?

The one I found (and won) were the Infinity Elite 10x25's. I've been looking for a light decent pair of binos for my son to carry and found these on EBAY (New) with a starting bid of $33. I bid on them thinking they would get bid up but kept my bid fairly low. I ended up winning them for the $33 opening bid  . I looked online and folks seem to have nothing but good things to say about them and the average price seems to be Between $139-$200. They both use the same coatings that utilize something like 99.4% of light and both use the BAC4 prizms.

I think I got a great deal, what do you think?

While 10x25 would be one of my least favorite magnification/objective size configurations, sounds like you got a good deal!

I already have a 12x50 and several 10x50's  so I was looking for a smaller Bino. I thought that wa a great deal too.

I am no fan of 10x25 binoculars.  But a small binocular surely does have uses.  I just will take 8x in a small binocular every time.  You said it is for your son, may I ask how old he is?  Young kids can have some requirements that may be better suited by other binoculars too.

For the specs the look to be a pretty decent glass, so I think you did OK.  What counts is if you like them, or if your son likes them.

He's 16, plenty old enough to know how to use them. Plus I think these will gather the light a little better than the ones he has now. Hey $46 (with shipping) for $139-$200 binocs I thought this was a no brainer. I'd still like to get a pair of Leupolds or Zen Ray's eventually
