Hunted the Panhandle past 5 years. Great in the beginning. However, two years in a row of severe winter kill. 08 season we saw about 1/3 the amount of deer we'd seen just a couple years ago. My buddy emailed the head bio for the panhandle region after last season. His response stated between that winter kill and the wolves coming from the north and east, this was the worst whitetail population levels he'd experienced in 19 years with the idfg. It didn't sound too encouraging. We're hunting mulies central Idaho this year.
