velvet is coming off

 My son and I was out looking for a bear tonight and seen a nice 5x5 bull with a smaller 4x4 and 4 cows. Bigger bull had his velvet almost off and was putting the run to the smaller guy. Was fun to watch,rut is a brewing  :drool:  :drool: :drool:

Drove through that area on Tuesday and all Weyerhaeuser and Rainier lands are close.

But I didn't see any signs on Willamette forest gates and seen some guys hiking in behind a gate, looked to be Bear hunting.  Some good news for Bear river unit hunters

odds are there will not even be any walkin this year, sucks ......concentrates the hunters in the few areas you can access to much

I hope Weyerhaeuser opens up when I was down there last weekend they were all posted closed so I called Weyerhaeuser and the recording said the same, closed due to fire hazards.  :bdid: :bash: :bash: I hope it opens up.

I dont know for sure about weyco ground. I do know that there is alot of Rainer ground that is locked up with no access at all do to there bidding for hunting ground. Weyco usually opens there ground after it has rained as much as it has in the last few days.

I saw a small bachelor herd of three bulls which all still had full velvet.
