Here are some pics from my climb the other day. I made the summit in 3 hours and 34 minutes. It was tough but worth it.

Awesome trip. I didn't know you could just climb it anytime you wanted.

My daughter and I have permits for Friday the 28th. We'll try to snap some pics to upload as well. Lots of good views. Even saw a marmet the last time we were on the mountain.

Very cool, I wish I had made that climb back when I had the opportunity. Awesome pictures.

I did it in 08. Was going to this year but got bronchitis, couldn't do it. Only 100 passes per day during the summer. The weekend passes go fast. Well worth the effort to get to the top.

The permits are to control the amount of use, One because it is a sensitive area and it is still a volcano and if it blows the number of casualties will be low. The permit is $22. I was just just thinking the other day, I am not sure how many of the permits get used during the week but I know most weekends are full. If so they are making $2,200 a day.

And didn't they close one of the visitor centers last year for lack of funds? Even if that's only 250 days/year, then you'd think a half million dollars would be enough to keep things going for the people that use that area.
Oh,, I guess that all goes back to the general fund to support 'Healthcare reform and to buy clunkers'. ?
Thanx for sharing the photos.
